That’s it. The end of part 1.
A headlong rush from the sewers of London, to a tomb in Brightling.
The aim of the comic was originally to give Dom my younger son something to draw, with the focus of launching a webcomic for the 2010 UK Webcomix thing event.
I’ve continued the exercise, and learnt a lot about my capacity and capability, to draw with traditional materials, and with digital tools. I’d like to say I’ve enjoyed every minute, but that’s not true, I’ve had to struggle quite often just to get the thing done. It is very easy to listen to the little voice which says, “relax, look at the internet, finishing stuff doesn’t matter.”
I’ve often ended up drawing things I don’t like, or want to draw…then remembered that Mignola, just wanted to draw monsters, I’ve altered the story, and allowed myself to do just that…
I’m pleased to have finished what I started.
I plan to be a bit more adventurous in the next part of the story, and move from dashing out strips to meet a weekly schedule, to trying to be a little more artistic, and build a more fluent style.
Thanks for reading.
Rob.
