There’s been an awful lot of traffic on the twitters over the past couple of days regarding the fund raising that has been done to buy some early papers by Alan Turing.
Bletchley Park which for many people symbolises the very British start of computing as we know it, was Turing’s home during the war years. Sadly it’s been treated in a very British way like many other fantastically important historic sites, and not been maintained as well as it should have been…

Visit and give them your cash, and stand amazed at the intellectual brilliance that worked here in secret. A family ticket will set you back just £22.50, which of course you could use to do something else, like could spending an hour and half in a world of cine, being annoyed by some loud shouty nonsense… buying nearly 4 gallons of petrol… etc…
Anyway, the point of the post was, that of course dear old Alan Turing wasn’t just working for British Intelligence… but for the BrightAngel Foundation. He’ll be turning up in part 2 of the wychwolf story, which should start in September.
