I’ve had a number of creatures scribbled in a whole pile of notebooks, and it’s always hard to finalise the design… as with everything i do, it changes from sketch to inked… I’m not sure I like the latest incarnation of Professor Glaskopf, but hell I can change him.

Artstuff staedltler pigment pens and copic grey markers in a my sketchbook… sadly the paper is far too absorbent, and the ink bleed was extensive. I won’t do that again. Next week I’ll use some decent paper.

When in doubt, add a bit of action. Over at the ten ton studio, this weeks sketch challenge is the defenders… a superhero team which includes the Hulk, so I read a Hulk story, and basically it was 30 pages of stuff being shot, and smashed up… which is considerably easier to write than dialogue.
Normal service may be resumed next week.
Drawing stuff: Staedtler 0.5mm pigment pen, and COPIC markers on light weight watercolour paper.
Soundtrack: the click click of knitting, the dull sound of foopballists on the telly.
If you read the script Adam is compiling over at http://www.wychwolf.co.uk you’ll see that what was originally planned here was a bit of dull conversation, and some bumbling around an airfield.. maybe the view of an office, perhaps a few interesting moustaches. I decided we needed to ramp the action back up again… and so thought it might be nice to have something follow Eric through the woods.

Words, words words…
A brief respite from the fun and frolics down in the crypt, with all those werewolf things, and psychotropic drugs. Our man Eric is the “star in a reasonably priced car” for the next few weeks, as he investigates the airman, so cruelly mauled. The first frame of this strip is a photo from Ashdown Forest, on the edge of an MOD training ground. It’s one of the things that sparked the ideas for he story in the first place.
Art Stuff: Staedtler 0.3 and 0.7mm pigment pens on DELETER Manga paper.
Soundtrack: The bubbling mud sound of appalling DAB, leading to irritation and silence, broken only by the munching of apples, and the buzz of countryside insects.
It’s a cliffhanger.. trapped in a secret underground laboratory with a Zombie dog, and a Zombie/mummy/werewolf, Broadstairs raddled by psychotic drugs, and concussed, and armed only with a cricket bat. What will befall our plucky protagonists…
You’ll have to wait and see.
Artwork was all digital this week, usual stuff, little wacom bamboo tablet, and photoshop elelments 4 for mac.
Soundtrack: Macbreak weekly, bleating on about iphone 4 issues. Don’t have one, can’t afford one, just ordered an htc wildfire.

Enter the police in the form of plucky Brian Chough. The local CID, called out to the crime scene from his comfy seat watching a cricket match, he’s jumping to conclusions, but als jumping to action, and not afraid. What a thoroughly nice chap.
Art stuff.. lazy week, a fair bit of cut and paste here, but a couple of new bits, all done with a Staedtler pigment pen, 0.5mm this week as the others are running low on ink. Normal copier paper has replaced the Bristol board simply because it is to hand.
